Little Witch Nobeta’s Content Update “Under Review” for Nintendo Switch

Claims of Nintendo potentially altering their content policies in an attempt to crack down on lewd games might perhaps be true after all as the official Little Witch Nobeta Twitter account revealed that the latest update content (which includes the swimsuit skin) is “under review” by Nintendo.

For those not familiar, the Little Witch Nobeta developer recently held a contest of sorts, and because the swimsuit skin was the victor, all players would get the skin for free when Little Witch Nobeta launched.

However, an official tweet has revealed that the swimsuit skin will be delayed for the Nintendo Switch version of the game because Nintendo is reviewing the content update:

Naturally, this has some curious, as the skins are currently available on the other versions of the game, and some might be wondering if Nintendo is in fact actually starting to crack down on erotic games – though, others have alleged that this slowness is common for Nintendo and has happened with other titles.

Little Witch Nobeta can be enjoyed now on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Fate/strange Fake, a former April Fool’s Day joke that was transformed into an actual spinoff, is getting a special anime, yet more content for Fate/Grand Order addicts to consume and sure to have many wondering if the Fate franchise will ever slow down.

The anime special was announced at Aniplex Online Fest 2022, and it will be titled “Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-“.

A short PV was also shared online, chronicling the Fate franchise over the years before finally announcing the special:

BlazBlue Creator Toshimichi Mori Departs Arc System Works

The man responsible for the creation of BlazBlue, Toshimichi Mori, has announced his departure from Arc System Works after 19 years, leaving some curious as to the direction the fighting game franchise might take in the future.

Mori released a statement announcing his departure and thanked the fans for their years of support:

I have something to report to all of the users. I, Toshimichi Mori, have left Arc System works, the company I worked at for many years.

I first joined Arc System works after working on Guilty Gear X as an employee of PicPac, and I cherish many of the experiences I have had during my 20 years there, whether it was working for various fighting game titles, developing my own title BlazBlue, or connecting with many of our users.

I have nothing but gratitude towards the staff of Arc System Works and others who have worked with me, as well as all the users who supported us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I will depart from Arc System Works. This may cause some feelings of anxiety, especially among fans of the BlazBlue series. For this, I sincerely apologize.

At the moment I’m thinking of creating and delivering a game for the users in some way, and am going to focus my strength on that endeavor. Your support would be much appreciated.

The cherished Onimusha series is making a return of sorts, albeit not in the form of a game but a Netflix anime adaptation, which will have some critics wondering if it’ll be decent as Netflix productions tend to vary in quality.

Onimusha is a video game franchise that contains various Japanese historical figures and mixes in elements of the supernatural.

The Netflix anime’s chief director will be Takashi Miike, Shinya Sugai will serve as director, Sublimation was chosen as the animation studio, and Toshihiro Mifune is serving as the model for character Musashi Miyamoto.

According to Netflix, the anime will follow Musashi as he attempts to defeat the Genma during the Edo period of Japan:

The beginning of the Edo period, Musashi is no longer a young man. He departs with the legendary Oni Gauntlet to defeat the Genma. 3D CGI characters and hand-drawn backgrounds create phenomenal visuals. Onimusha is given a new life using modern-day animation technology.

The anime industry, much like the video game industry, is again trying to profit off nostalgia whilst simultaneously introducing beloved classics to a new generation, and samurai anime Rurouni Kenshin is the next series to be getting a remake, one that will have quite a bit of polish according to the announcement trailer.

The trailer naturally focuses heavily on merciless killer Kenshin and shows off several violent scenes carried out by the swordsman:

Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! Western Version Cancels Event Due to “Inappropriate Content”

HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!, known as Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku in Japan, has cancelled an upcoming event in the West due to “inappropriate expressions”, which many suspect is once again a matter of Western developers removing content they personally deem “offensive”.

The official English Twitter account for HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE! released a statement saying they believed a part of the “Revival My Dream” event was “inappropriate”, and because they were “unable to change the content to satisfy everyone”, the event is being cancelled altogether:

Due to the wording, some might theorize that the Western developer might have asked the Japanese developer for permission to alter the content, but were denied, and thus chose to simply not have the event at all – though, the exact details weren’t disclosed.

What exactly was deemed “inappropriate” in the event wasn’t mentioned, but players have suggested that the art on some of the cards and elements of the story were “offensive”:

HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE! was a rhythm game released for smartphones back in 2020, and it was developed by Colorful Palette and published by Sega Corporation.

Censorship came to an anime of the series a while back, where an episode containing girls dressed as gyaru, which mentally ill individuals wrongly called “blackface”, was removed.

Some might be unsurprised by this turn of events, as those familiar with the Western Vocaloid community are likely aware that it is populated by social media addicts and those who believe in nonsensical gender politics.
