A-1 Pictures has partnered with CloverWorks to establish a new animation training facility named FLINT BASE. The initiative aims to address Japan’s domestic animator shortage by shifting away from traditional on-the-job mentorship toward an academy-style curriculum. This model allows new talent to develop skills in a structured environment before entering the professional workforce.
The project also includes MAPPA and Production I.G as supporting partners. A primary goal is to reduce reliance on overseas studios for in-between animation, which currently constitutes a significant portion of production outsourcing. By securing these resources domestically, the studios hope to create a sustainable pipeline for key animators and specialists.
While this structural change may influence future productions like Solo Leveling Season 3, no specific release dates have been confirmed for upcoming projects such as the Beyond the System movie.
CBR Anime reported on October 28 that Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive launched on PS5, Xbox and Steam. On October 30, CBR Anime announced that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Season 3 returns on November 5 with three new episodes. Also on October 30, CBR Anime recommended a dark fantasy series superior to Solo Leveling. Earlier reports from October 24 listed five masterpiece anime similar to Solo Leveling, while October 28 coverage noted that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Season 3 confirmed a new artist and return date.
