The Re:Sharin no Kuni Project has opened a refund request form for backers who funded the Western release of Sharin no Kuni: The Girl Among the Sunflowers via Kickstarter or BackerKit. This development occurs nearly ten years after the original campaign launched in 2016, following multiple indefinite delays that have pushed back anticipated release windows past August 2023 and January 2024.
Despite offering refunds, the team confirmed that development has not ceased and the project remains active without a new launch date. Issues with older executables and plug-ins continue to cause errors in current builds. Backers who do not request refunds retain their rights to pledged rewards.
Support responsibilities are shifting as Tokyo Otaku Mode withdraws on October 31, 2026. Frontwing will assume user support duties starting November 1, handling inquiries through a new contact form while Akabeisoft2 retains rights.
